City Tour & Areqipas's valley by Bike
This adventure is for those who want to tour the city by bike, visit viewpoints and learn more about the history and culture of Arequipa on two wheels. We have modern and comfortable bicycles in different sizes, as well as safety gloves and helmets. On this tour we will have stops at strategic points to take pictures and learn more about the history of each place we visit. We also know more about the day to day, the current trade and the development of daily life in Arequipa.
We start the tour in the main square, where the white city was founded, the guide will provide relevant information and historical data of Arequipa, then we will bike through the historic center, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and then we will go to a wealthy or residential area where you can appreciate the contrast between colonial and republican architecture.
We will keep pedaling and cross the longest bridge in Arequipa, from where we will see the Chilina Valley, the Chili River, and the three volcanoes of Arequipa: Chachani, Misti, and Picu Pichu.
After the volcanoes viewpoint we will go to the traditional district of Yanahuara, one of the most beautiful in the city, and we will pedal through the narrow colonial streets to the square where the Yanahuara colonial church and viewpoint are located, both of them built with ashlar (volcanic stone), here we will have a break to taste Arequipa's typical dessert (queso helado) and to rest.
We will take the bikes again and head to the Chilina Valley, where we will bike through farmland and be able to observe pre-Inca agricultural terraces, as well as farm animals.
Finally we will cross the Chili river and return through San Lázaro, the oldest neighborhood in the city, then we'll back to the mainsquare.
