Walking City Tour
The historic center of Arequipa has been a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since the year 2000 and this is due to its beautiful architecture, cultural fusion and its transcendental sociopolitical participation in the development of the history of Peru.
Our tour includes a visit to the Santa Catalina monastery and the Andean Sanctuaries museum, in the first you will discover the colonial history through the lives of the cloistered nuns who lived in this mini-city built in 1579, and in the second you will meet Juanita, Inca princess who was sacrificed on the Ampato volcano as part of a very important Inca ceremonial ritual "Capaccocha".
We also visit the San Camilo market (oldest one in the town) where tradition is present on a daily basis and of course we will walk the narrow streets of the oldest neighborhood in Arequipa, San Lazaro.
Since this tour is pedestrian and in private service, we can make the necessary breaks for you to rest and if necessary we can continue after lunch.
Definitely we will visit the city's main square, place of the foundation and meeting point of the population, the Jesuit cloisters, church and its impressive dome of San Ignacio, clear sample of cultural miscegenation expressed through art and religion.
Finally we will cross through the San Francisco square towards the Fundo el Fierro craft center and later we will have the opportunity to photograph and feed llamas and alpacas at Mundo Alpaca minizoo.
