Arequipa – Yura en bicicleta – Quiscos (Baños Termales)

Yura - Quiscos (hot springs) by bike & and Ashlar Quarries

At 8:00 a.m. transfer to Yura Viejo village, over there we will do a downhill by bike on a dirt road, to reach the thermal baths of Quiscos, on the way we'll pass by farming fields where they grow onions, corn, marjoram, carrots, garlic, quinoa, and potatoes, this tour is not only downhill, there are ups too, it is not really hard and the maximum elevation is 3300 meter, but anyway if someone feels that is too hard, the transport is going to be near to the group and you can take the car in the most demanding parts.

After approximately 2 hour by bike, we will arrive at an outdoor source of hot springs, where we will have a restful rest and enjoy a bath in the nature. For the way back to Yura village, you'll decide if you want to ride the bike again or if you prefer return by car.

We take lunch in a traditional restaurant in Yura village, where we will taste traditional dishes of the Arequipa cuisine, after lunch, return to the city by our private car, and before arriving in Arequipa, we will make a visit to the quarries of ashlar, to see the extraction work of the white volcanic stone, which was used to build the city. As well as the artistic works in the ashlar buildings, arrival in Arequipa is around 4:00 pm.

    A las 8:00 am traslado al pueblo de Yura Viejo, allí haremos un descenso en bicicleta por un camino de tierra, hasta llegar a los baños termales de Quiscos, en el camino pasaremos por campos de cultivo donde se producen cebollas, maíz, orégano, zanahorias, ajo, quinua y papas, esta excursión no es sólo cuesta abajo, también hay subidas, no son muy difíciles y la elevación máxima es de 3300 metros, pero de todos modos si alguien siente que es demasiado difícil, el transporte va a estar cerca del grupo y usted puede tomar el coche en las partes más exigentes.

    Después de aproximadamente 2 horas en bicicleta, llegaremos a una fuente al aire libre de aguas termales, donde tendremos un descanso tranquilo y disfrutaremos de un baño en la naturaleza. Para el camino de vuelta al pueblo de Yura, usted decidirá si desea montar en bicicleta de nuevo o si prefiere regresar en coche. .

    Almorzamos en un restaurante tradicional en el pueblo de Yura, donde degustaremos platos tradicionales de la cocina de Arequipa, después del almuerzo, retorno a la ciudad en nuestro transporte privado, y antes de llegar a Arequipa, haremos una visita a la Canteras del sillar, para ver el trabajo de extracción de la piedra volcánica blanca, que se utilizó para construir la ciudad. Además de las obras artísticas en los farallones, la llegada a Arequipa es alrededor de las 4:00 pm.
